Traditional Arak Crafting Tour
Half Tour: 6 Hours

Arak is a traditional alcoholic beverage from Bali, Indonesia, made from fermented coconut sap called TUWAK. Tuwak is the only 100% ingredient for Arak sourced from the germ village at Karangasem, in east Bali. Traditional Arak Bali processing involves farmers tapping coconut trees twice a day to collect the tuwak, which is then mixed with coconut fiber and allowed to ferment for 2-3 days. After fermentation, the liquid is distilled for approximately 4-6 hours to extract the alcohol, resulting in the final product . This whole process is usually done by hand using artisan techniques. It’s a clear liquor with an alcohol content of 20–60%. Arak is used for all ceremonies in Bali.
